"Religion and Politics." It's an explosive mix in America, and arguably never more so than now. But while John Kerry stumbles in the face of criticism from some Catholic bishops, President Bush is having no trouble bringing a little of that old time religion into the election.
His campaign is reaching out to its religious base in unprecedented ways, answering the prayers of some Christians who welcome a little more church in their state, and raising questions among others who wonder if his campaign's efforts to organize voters through their congregations is crossing the line.
