Sex, Love and Advice Columns

Where is Ann Landers when we need her? Two cousins are feuding very publicly over their relative who's just died, and they happen to be the advice columnist's own daughter and niece.

The woman who told many an overwrought advice-seeker to "kwitcher-bellyachin, Buster" might have had a snappy comeback and sensible solution. But she always admitted she didn't have all the answers, such as when her own marriage fell apart. When Ann Landers and her twin sister, aka Dear Abby ,started writing advice columns in the '50s, people didn't mention cancer in public, much less homosexuality or masturbation.

Today's advice columns tackle nipple rings, roommates' noisy love-making, and much, much more. The no-taboos world of Post-Ann advice columns.
