This is a mystery that begins at the end of World War Two. In 1945, just days after V-E day the Nazi's loaded treasures, stolen from Jews in Hungary, onto a train bound for Germany.
The 'Gold Train's' cargo-24 boxcars of precious gems and family heirlooms, would be worth as much as two billion dollars today. But it's contents never made it back to their rightful owners. American troops managed to seize the train in Austria. But, instead of following U.S. policy to return items to the rightful owners, top ranking U-S military officers helped themselves to the treasure trove.
Now, some of the surviving Hungarian Jews are bringing the first lawsuit of its kind against he United States government seeking compensation.
